The foods you choose to put into your body have a lot to do with your overall health. And our gut is the root of it all. Keeping the gut healthy is the key to good health and we do that by having a diverse diet of healthy whole foods. Experts are becoming more and more aware every day of the dramatic impact our diet can have on chronic illness. Nourishing our bodies with healthy, nutrient dense foods can help promote proper digestion, detoxification, regulation of cholesterol, increased metabolism, an increase vitamin production and push out pathogens. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. There is no magic pill, and healing does not happen overnight but nourishing ourselves with the right foods is critical to reducing inflammation and preventing chronic disease.
It was back in 2020 that I started having issues with acid reflux. I was diagnosed with a small hiatal hernia and esophagitis. I struggled with trouble swallowing, chest tightness and a sore throat. Multiple doctor visits got me nowhere and I quickly realized that all the medical industry wanted to do was push proton pump inhibitors at me and send me on my way. That’s when I decided that I was going to have to find a better way to heal. I discovered that what I put into my body has a direct impact on my overall health and how I feel. Food is medicine. It has the most amazing ability to heal inflammation, strengthen our gut and promote health and functionality. And as a result, I healed.
So welcome to my page and my healing journey. Low Acid Eats is a page and a recipe guide designed to help you create healthy meals that are easy to make but will also help you promote overall health, reduce digestive symptoms, heal inflammation, and feel better overall. In this community, you will learn how to better incorporate whole foods and clean brand name products into your lifestyle, as well as learn a lot about general wellness along the way. All of my recipes are whole food based, anti-inflammatory, reflux friendly, gluten free, refined sugar free, and mostly dairy free. They are meal prep friendly. In addition, my recipes are gut friendly and are okay for those following special gut healing diets like reflux, Gerd, Gastritis, LPR, Autoimmune, Sibo, etc. (with some exceptions here and there). I center my recipes around whole ingredients and avoid things that are highly processed and full of additives that contribute to inflammation and poor gut health. I hope that my recipes can help guide you along the way and encourage you to embrace a healthy eating lifestyle. My hopes are to build a community for all of us who want access to tips to help fuel our bodies and promote wellness and vitality!
